The local market opened on a firmer ground, at above 1,000 levels amid strong rebound on Wall Street. The KLCI jumps 34.04 points or 3.43% to settle at 1,025.7 levels, led by banking stocks on US government's plan to solve the credit crisis.
- Top leaders were Tenaga (+65 sen to RM6.90), TM International (+60 sen to RM6.55) and IOI Corp (+28 sen to RM4.34)
- Top laggards were DiGi (-50 sen to RM22.80), KLK (-15 sen to RM9.15) and Telekom (-4 sen to RM3.46).
- Market breadth was positive with 461 advancers outpacing 142 decliners.
- Volume increased to 587m shares worth RM1.26b from last Thursday's 563m shares valued at RM1.35b.
- CPO Dec delivery gained RM41.0/MT or 1.88% to RM2,226.0/MT.
